Gravitational Regulation of Osteoblast Genomics
This project seeks to determine if ground-based magnetic levitation is a suitable simulation of orbital free fall for cell culture studies. The researchers plan to grow MC3T3 osteoblastic cells in a bioreactor compatible with their ground-based levitation magnet and the ISS space-based microgravity environment. RNAseq will be used to discover if gravity and magnetic field affects the osteoblast transcriptome.
