Microarry Analysis of Memory B Cells

When a foreign molecule (antigen) enters a vertebrate animal, B lymphocytes within the body recognize the antigen with a surface antibody and begin to divide. Some of the progeny secrete their antibodies and others retain their antibodies on the cell surface and become long-lived memory cells. These researchers are performing DNA microarray analyses to identify the differentiation program that causes B cells to become memory cells. MSI data-analysis tools are very helpful for this research.
