Improving Flood Forecasting on Rapid Runoff Response Watersheds
The overall goal of this research is to improve operational flood forecasting on rapid runoff response watersheds in the Midwest for summer convective rainfall. This ongoing research project focuses on scaling analysis of rainfall, characterization of flood response time scales for various problematic watersheds, and experimentation with model modifications to improve operational flood forecast skill.
