Computational Studies in Biology
This group has major projects in three areas: cancer modeling, cell motility, and pattern formation. In each they formulate a mathematical model that leads either to deterministic or stochastic partial differential equations. In all cases the computational problem is large enough to require use of the supercomputers. Some projects also involve sensitivity analysis using analysis-of-variance techniques, which involve Monte Carlo computations; these depend large amounts of CPU time.
