Computational Studies in Pattern Formation, Cell Motility and Tumor Development

This group's work covers a broad spectrum of topics, but a unifying theme is the development and computational analysis of complex biological models. In pattern formation, they are studying the effects of mutants and stress on growth rates and organ size. In cell motility, they study complex signal transduction networks that govern direction sensing and control of the actin cytoskeleton. In tumor development, they study the effects of nutrient distributions and other factors on the growth of tumors. In all three areas the computational models are large, necessitating the use of MSI resources.
