Using HPC to Examine Fluid Flow and Reactions in Geologic Media
This project uses MSI HPC resources in order to examine fluid flow, chemical reactions, and the coupling between the two in geologic porous media. Many of the focus systems, including geologic CO2 sequestration and CO2-based geothermal energy extraction reservoirs, require large amounts of memory and processor power in order to simulate. The Saar group has put major effort into developing and utilizing parallel simulators so that these simulations can be performed efficiently.
A bibliography of this group’s publications acknowledging MSI is attached.
