Regulation of Hydrogenase Expression in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii
This research group has recently developed a powerful mutant screen that allows them to isolate mutants with altered regulation of expression of genes for hydrogenase and other genes in response to anoxia. They are using this screen to saturate the regulatory pathway for hydrogenase expression, with the eventual goal of producing algal strains that can produce hydrogen constitutively in response to sunlight. MSI resources are needed to assist the group in characterizing gene expression using RNA-seq, and for identifying mutant lesions with whole genome resequencing of mutant strains.
A bibliography of this group’s publications is attached.
