Mathematical Modeling for Membrane Separation Process
These researchers have build a mathematical model for the membrane separation process. This evolves as a system of coupled non-linear partial differential equations. Since the system cannot be solved analytically, the researchers must resort to numerical methods. The system involves a lot of calculation in order to derive the thermodynamic factor and diffusivity for various components and finally solve the equations. Since there are a lot of independent calculations in the system, the group is trying to make use GPU computing, necessitating the use of MSI resources for parallel computing through Matlab or Cuda kernel.
