Functional Genomics in Legumes
Legume plants are major food crops throughout the world. The projects in the Vance laboratory focus on functional genomics in these plants. The researchers are utilizing next-generation high-throughput RNA and DNA sequencing. They use MSI resources to associate sequencing reads with genic regions and to measure gene expression levels characterize changes in legume gene expression due to nutrient stress and mutagenesis. The group also uses MSI resources to characterize genome deletions and rearrangements in comparison to a reference genome for a large population of soybean mutants.
A bibliography of this group’s publications acknowledging MSI is attached.
