I need software MSI does not have. How do I get new software installed at MSI?

For many software packages, users are advised to install their own software within their home or group directories. A brief introduction to installing software in a Linux environment can be found here. Resources on creating your own local modules to support this software can be found here.

For highly used or licensed software, MSI has global software packages available via module. The Accessing Software Quick Start Guide gives further details.

If you believe that the software you would like to have installed would be of general use, please submit a request via the software request form. Requests will be evaluated based on:

- The number of groups and users impacted by the software

- The scalability of the software to high-performance computing architectures

- The feasibility of installing and maintaining the software on MSI systems
