BEERS is a simulation engine for generating RNA-Seq data. BEERS was designed to benchmark RNA-Seq alignment algorithms and also algorithms that aim to reconstruct different isoforms and alternate splicing from RNA-Seq data.

To run this software interactively in a Linux environment run the commands:
module load beers
reads_simulator.pl <num_reads> <name> [options]
BEERS also provides a Perl script to create custom configuration files:
make_config_files_for_subset_of_gene_ids.pl
For documentation, run each command without parameters, or visit the BEERS homepage.
