Date: Tuesday, November 2, 2010, 01:00 pm - 03:00 pm
Location: 402 Walter
Instructor(s): Zheng Jin Tu, MSI

The operation of the Illumina/Solexa Genome Analyzers, GAIIx and HiSeq 2000, at the Biomedical Genomics Center allows researchers at the University of Minnesota to generate tens of gigabases of DNA sequences in a single run. This tutorial will introduce a technical review of Illumina/Solexa Genome Analyzers (GA). Then we will discuss their applications in various biomedical research fields. Finally we will introduce data and data types generated by Illumina/Solexa sequencers and present a general overview of new generation sequencing data analysis.

Prerequisites: Genomic sequencing knowledge
