Minnesota Supercomputing Institute
Undergraduate and graduate students with some familiarity with finite element method, plus faculty interested in finite element analysis, optimization, or fatigue.
The SIMULIA Central’s Minneapolis office invites you to two-part seminar held on campus to provide an introductory, hands-on workshop with Abaqus and to introduce you to additional simulation technology recently made available to the University of Minnesota.
10:00am – 12:00pm - Introduction to the full Power of the Portfolio with an overview of Abaqus, Isight, Tosca, and fe-safe (Walter 402)
12:00pm - 1:00pm - Pizza lunch provided by SIMULIA
1:00pm - 5:00pm - Hands-on Abaqus workshop (Keller 1-254)
The morning session will provide an overview of new enhancements to Abaqus as well as a brief introduction to Isight, Tosca, and fe-safe. The afternoon workshop will demonstrate how to perform FEA of simple problems using Abaqus in an interactive, hands-on environment. Some of the topics to be covered: - Building and importing models using Abaqus CAE - FEA using Beam, Shell, and 3D Solid elements - Dynamic analysis using Abaqus Explicit - Post-processing using Abaqus Viewer - Incorporating contact in your model
Advance registration required. It is not necessary to attend both sessions. Please send your name, email, phone number & department to Wen.Tu.Intern@3ds.com or call 651-289-5716. Space is limited. Please register early and let us know whether you plan to attend the morning lecture, afternoon workshop, or both.
