With regards to the safety measures put in place by the university to mitigate the risks of the COVID-19 virus, at this time all MSI systems will remain operational and can be accessed remotely as usual. The only planned outages concern our in-person Helpdesk and tutorials. More information, as well as alternative remote support options, can be found at MSI COVID-19 Continuity Plan
This tutorial will help users learn the basics of compiling and debugging their code on MSI systems. Particular attention will be paid to code written in Fortran, C, and C++. Basic methods for debugging will be outlined, with users being able to explore different debugging tools. This tutorial will focus primarily on compiling serial programs,but brief information on compiling and debugging parallel programs will also be given. Attendees should have a basic knowledge of Linux and rudimentary knowledge of a programming language.
NOTE: For the Fall 2020 session of this tutorial, the session will NOT be delievered live. Registrations on this page will instead be for a live Q&A will be based on a previous recording. Information about the Q&A session will be emailed to registrants about a week for the session date.
