Project Title:
Immune Response to Influenza Virus Infections

This laboratory is using MSI for three projects:

  • Studying how influenza infection is affected by factors including cell type, different cell activation states, and the time of infection dictate immunity and pathology to the infection. The group uses a variety of techniques, including flow cytometry, fluorescent microscopy, multiplexed elisa, RNA-seq, single cell RNA sequencing, and others.
  • Evaluating antiviral responses to SARS-CoV-2 infections using RNA-seq and single cell RNA-seq.
  • Evaluating cross-species viral transmission and evolution. This project relies heavily on many sequencing and computational approaches including RNA-seq, amplicon seq, nanopore seq, virus discovery, phylogenetics, variant analyses, computational modeling, and others.
