Project Title:
Dark Matter and Gravitational Waves

This group works in the area of observational and experimental astrophysics. They handle large amounts of data acquired by dark matter and gravitational wave detectors in search for astrophysical signals. They also conduct studies of detector characterization using these data. To achieve their science goals, they deploy various statistical and data processing techniques, including novel machine learning algorithms. They also conduct finite-element simulations of seismic wave propagation, and aim to compare the simulations with observed data from the Homestake mine in South Dakota.
